About

Our History

Keep Brazos Beautiful, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, founded in 1980 by Jack and Dorothy Miller.

After hearing about the ugliness of litter in the community, Jack Miller and others created a week long beautification/clean up in April 1980. After a very successful clean up, the community wanted this beautification effort to continue. So, on June 5th of 1980, the organization started with the name Beautify Brazos County Association and Jack Miller as the first elected president. In August 1980, we gained our 501(c)3 status.

After a few years of cleaning and beautifying our community, we looked to incorporate and affiliate with Keep America Beautiful and Keep Texas Beautiful. So, on February 17, 1983 the organization incorporated. We changed our name to Brazos Beautiful, Inc. and became the 283rd Keep America Beautiful Clean Community. In 1993, we became a Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate. In November 2001, we changed our name to Keep Brazos Beautiful, Inc.

Since then, we have been keeping our community clean, green, and beautiful.
