The Programs Assistant serves as the volunteer coordinator, and will also assist and help coordinate all programs and events for the agency. The program assistant will also assist in developing a solid and positive relationship with community leaders to promote the mission of the agency. This position is seasonal for the Spring months of February, March, and April; and may become a permanent position upon evaluation at the end of April.

Essential job functions:

 Develops and implements a volunteer recruitment plan for programs and events.
 Manages and trains volunteers for programs and events.
 Develops educational events, programs, and materials for youth and adults.
 Assists in developing marketing brochures, newsletters, press releases, and articles.
 Updates and manages website and social media presence.
 Assists in compiling data for Board, KTB, and KAB reports and meetings.
 Manages and maintains accurate volunteer database and records.
 Helps to ensure requirements of funding agreements are met.
 Develops and maintains printed and online resources for community and educator needs.
 Assists with strategic planning.
 Serves as a representative of the agency to the community to increase community understanding and support of KBB programs and events.
 Other duties may be required/assigned.

Job Requirements:

 Three years of administrative experience.
 High school diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred).
 Proficient in Microsoft Office (ie; word, power point, excel, etc.).
 Must be highly organized, possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and be able to effectively work independently and in a team.
 Experience working in a non-profit organization is a plus, but not required.
 Must have a valid Class “C” drivers license prior to employment.
 Must pass a drug test, Driver License check, and criminal background check.
 Must be able to work occasionally during evening and/or weekend during some program events.
